GLENVILLE, W.VA. (Dec. 30) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team couldn't handle a very good NCAA Division II team from Glenville State and fell by the final of 97-68.
The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 4-6 overall, while the Pioneer improved to 7-2 on the year.
Glenville jumped out to a 45-21 lead at halftime and cruised to victory in the second half.
Though it came in a losing effort, junior guard Ryan Courneen led the Jackets in scoring for the fourth-straight game with 15 points. Senior guard Dan Happe added 11 points, while junior guard Jarell Rodriguez and senior forward Colby Grubich added nine points each.
The Jackets will try to get back on the winning track on Saturday, when they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. to take on Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) rival Thomas More.
