WEXFORD, Pa. (May 12) – Two members of the Waynesburg University softball team were recently listed on the 2010 All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Softball Teams.
Junior pitcher Amanda Baughman and senior second baseman Bre Kokladas were both lauded as second-team selections after helping the Yellow Jackets to a 13-19 season (6-8 in PAC play).
Baughman turned in a tremendous overall season, both at the plate and in the pitcher's circle. She led Waynesburg in virtually every offensive and pitching category. Her .402 batting average ranked fourth in the conference, while her .655 slugging percentage was good enough for second place. She also ranked in the top 10 of the PAC in on-base percentage, homeruns and walks. As a pitcher, she ranked number-two in the conference with 129 strikeouts. That total is the highest of any Jacket pitcher since at least 2001.
Kokladas set new personal college bests in batting average (.346), hits (18), RBI (7) and walks (17), despite battling injury problems during part of the season.
PAC champion Thomas More boasted the 2010 PAC Player of the Year, sophomore first baseman Brittany Wegman, and the 2010 PAC Coach of the Year, Lindsay Bramhall.
