Sophomore wrestler Jake Evans continued his season of dominance by winning the 285-pound weight class at this past weekend’s NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships. Evans went 4-0 with back-to-back pins to open his run in the tournament. He won his semifinal bout by 6-1 decision to reach the title tilt, which ended rather anticlimactically in a medical forfeit by Sam Weinger of Rochester Institute of Technology.
 
Evans’ title, which was Waynesburg’s first regional crown since 2013, punched his ticket for the NCAA Division III National Championships.
