Baxter continued an outstanding rookie season with his second championship of the year (Washington & Jefferson Invitational) by putting together a notable run to the top of the podium at 174 pounds. He won by technical fall, major decision and first-period pin to set up a showdown with top-seeded Michael Gargano, the seventh ranked wrestler in Division III. Baxter showed no fear and rolled to an 8-1 decision in the final match of his day.
