Sophomore guard Matt Popeck lit up the scoreboard to the tune of 27.5 points per game this past week for the Yellow Jackets, who went 1-1 against PAC opposition. After tossing in 21 points in a win against Grove City on Wednesday, he racked up a personal collegiate-best 34 points in a loss to Chatham on Saturday. It was the highest single-game output this year by a PAC player and the most put up by a Waynesburg player since Mike King had 34 in 2004. Popeck knocked down 19-of-20 free throws and shot 15-of-36 field goals (41.7 percent). He also averaged 2.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 3.0 steals per contest.
