Ja'Khia Matthews took third in the 207-pound bracket at the John Carroll Open on Saturday. She earned a pin in 32 seconds over Mount Union's Emily Jirousek and was only defeated by the tournament champion and the regoinally-ranked runner-up. Matthews has eight wins this season, the second-most on Waynesburg's roster.
