Yellow Jackets complete winningest season since 2001

WAYNESBURG (Oct. 27) – In the final game of the season, the Yellow Jackets suffered a 1-0 loss to visiting Saint Vincent College Saturday morning at John F. Wiley Stadium.

With the loss, Waynesburg University finishes the season at 7-9-2, its winningest campaign since the 2001 season. Meanwhile, Saint Vincent improves it mark to 11-5-2.

The Bearcats broke the scoreless tie at the 10:16-mark when junior forward Kylie Simonini scored her eighth goal (unassisted) of the season. The one goal proved to be difference, as for the fourth-straight game the Yellow Jackets failed to tally a score.

Saint Vincent finished with a 20-15 advantage in shots despite leading the category by a 9-8 margin after the first half.

Senior goalkeeper Amy Mills suffered the loss despite making six saves on nine shots in 45 minutes of action. Junior Paige Yeich played a scoreless second half in net and registered six saves on 11 shot attempts.
