CRESSON, Pa. (Dec. 16) – The Yellow Jackets suffered a 71-61 loss at Mount Aloysius College on Sunday afternoon despite trailing by just two points midway through the second period.
Waynesburg University, which received a team-high 13 points from junior guard

Elisha Jones, is now 1-8 overall after winning the season-opener. With the win, Mount Aloysius moves to 5-4 overall this year.
Junior forward
Michaelene Jones added nine points, four steals and collected a team-high eight rebounds (four offensive), while sophomore guard
Johnna Deco tallied nine points and six boards.
The Mounties featured three players in double-figure scoring, including a game-high 23 points from sophomore Lindsey Bush. Mount Aloysius collected 11 steals and scored 24 points on 22 turnovers by Waynesburg.
In the first half, the Yellow Jackets trailed by as many as 13 points, 36-23, before they scored six unanswered points in the final 49 seconds to end the period trailing by seven points, 36-29.
Waynesburg continued to trim the deficit in the second half, cutting the Mounties' lead to just two points, 50-48, following a pair of free throws by Deco. However, Mount Aloysius counted with a 10-2 run of its own to claim a sizeable 60-50 lead with 5:25 left in the game. The Yellow Jackets would get as close as seven points, 68-61, with 17 seconds left following a trey by Gossett before falling 71-61.
The Yellow Jackets are off for the next two weeks before returning to action on Wednesday, Jan. 2, with a home contest against La Roche College. Tip is set for 7 p.m. at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
