LATROBE, Pa. (Dec. 8) – Second-half shooting proved to be the difference Saturday night, as the Yellow Jackets suffered an 89-66 loss to Saint Vincent at the Robert S. Carey Center. The Bearcats held a slim one-point halftime lead before shooting 70.4 percent (19-of-27) in the final 20 minutes.
The loss marks the fourth-straight for Waynesburg University, who falls to 2-4 on the season. Meanwhile, Saint Vincent won its third-straight game and moves to 6-1 this year.
Senior guard
Tim Drakeley, who entered the weekend as the conference's leading scorer at 20.8 points/game, led all players with 23 points on 7-of-18 shooting, including 5-of-11 from beyond the arc.

Jason Clark, who finished with 18 and 10 points, respectively. Parisi also collected a season-high seven rebounds.
Saint Vincent featured four players in double-figure scoring, led by 21 points from junior guard Joey Butler. Junior forward Mike Medved added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds (four offensive), a game high.
For the game, the Bearcats made 55.7 percent (34-of-61) of their shots and committed just 10 turnovers. In comparison, the Yellow Jackets shot 41.1 percent (23-of-56) from the floor and committed 18 turnovers.
The two teams battled to a 16-16 tie in the opening minutes before Waynesburg mounted a 16-7 run to claim a 32-23 lead with 5:40 left before halftime. Saint Vincent rallied in the final minutes of the half to take a 38-37 lead at the break.
In the opening minutes of the second half, there were two lead changes and six ties before the Bearcats claimed a double-digit lead with 11:54 left in the game. With the hot-shooting touch by Saint Vincent, Waynesburg was unable to cut the deficit back into single digits.
With final exams next week, the Yellow Jackets are idle until Thursday, Dec. 13, when they host Penn State-Beaver for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
