PITTSBURGH (Sept. 1) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team dropped its second match of the La Roche College Cup on Saturday, falling to NAIA-member Point Park, 2-0.

In the second minute of the game, sophomore forward Angela Olivieri gave the Pioneers a 1-0 lead off an assist from junior Corey Cardone. Following the early goal, the Yellow Jacket defense and junior goalkeeper Paige Yeich prevented the deficit from getting any bigger for the next 75-plus minutes. However, in the 78th minute freshman forward Danielle Bush added an insurance goal (unassisted) to make the score 2-0.

Yeich finished with seven saves on 16 shots in 90 minutes of action, while Point Park goalkeeper Emily Tomalswki claimed the shutout after making five saves on seven Waynesburg shot attempts.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 5, when they travel to face future Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) member Chatham University in a 4 p.m. contest in Pittsburgh.
