Waynesburg falls at Frostburg State, 6-1

Davis sets season high with 10 saves

FROSTBURG, Md. (Sept. 11) – Junior goalkeeper Brad Davis made a season-high 10 saves against Frostburg State University on Tuesday night, but the Waynesburg University men's soccer team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Bobcats.

With the victory, FSU improves its record this season to 3-2, while Waynesburg drops to 1-3 this campaign.

FSU collected their first tally of the game at the 25:56 mark with a goal from Alex Wilkinson off an assist from Adam Garcia. The Bobcats increased their lead to 5-0 before intermission behind a pair of goals from both Gregg Laskow and Garcia, who netted his two goals in the final 2:19 of the period.

Davis was active in net in the first half, registering seven saves on 17 shot attempts.

The Yellow Jackets avoided the shutout in the 77th minute when senior forward Scott Garet scored his first goal of the season off an assist from classmate JC Danhires.

Mike Pistorio gave Frostburg State its final goal of the contest less than a minute after Garet's tally to cap the 6-1 victory.

Davis finished the game in net for the Yellow Jackets with 10 saves on 27 shot attempts.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Friday, Sept. 14, when they continue their four-game road trip against Pitt-Johnstown with a 4:30 p.m. start time.
