FROSTBURG, Md. (Sept. 13) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team battled back and forth with Frostburg State throughout, but the Bobcats erased a 2-1 Waynesburg advantage to post a 3-2 (27-30, 30-28, 28-30, 30-25, 16-14) victory on Thursday night.
Junior outside hitter
Laurie Lindner paced the Yellow Jackets' attack on the night with a season-high 26 kills on .417 hitting. She also recorded her second-straight kill/dig double-double and fifth of the season with 26 kills and 27 digs against Frostburg State.
Middle blocker
Amanda Jo Morgan joined Lindner in double figures with 14 kills. Junior setter
Amanda Staudt posted her third assist/dig double-double of the season with 36 assists and 10 digs, while freshman
Rachell Storm anchored the defense with 38 digs.
Waynesburg returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 15 when it opens Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play with a host tri-match at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse against Bethany and Grove City. First serve against the Wolverines is set for 11 a.m. before the Yellow Jackets face the Bison at 1 p.m.
