NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Sept. 14) – In a rematch of the season opener, the Yellow Jackets suffered a 9-0 loss to Westminster on Friday afternoon in conference play.

With the loss, Waynesburg falls to 1-4 overall with a 1-1 mark in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. The Titans improve to 4-1 overall with a 2-1 record in league action.

In the sweep of doubles play, the closest match was the No. 1 position. Junior Laura Garcia and freshman Blakeley Mall dropped an 8-6 decision to the Westminster duo of Christina Commisso and Dana Larson.

Westminster used straight-set victories in all singles matches to complete the sweep. After beating Larson in singles play earlier this season, Mall lost the rematch at the second slot, 6-3, 6-2.

Waynesburg returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 15, with a road non-conference match in Erie, Pa., against Penn State-Behrend. First serve is set for 10 a.m.
