WAYNESBURG (Sept. 15) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team used two first-half goals, separated by 12 minutes, to defeat Pitt-Greensburg, 3-1, at John F. Wiley Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Deana Martorella added a goal in the final seconds of the game.
Waynesburg moves to 4-2 on the year, winning its last four games, while Pitt-Greensburg dropped to 1-4-1 this season. The Yellow Jackets out-shot the Bobcats, 15-11, and held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-0.
In the 24th minute of the game, Amato scored her second goal of the season when she beat Pitt-Greensburg goalkeeper Dana Huether. Waynesburg continued to put pressure on the Bobcat defense as Spitznogle scored off a pass from freshman
Danielle Danhires at the 36:38-mark.
The Yellow Jackets held the Bobcats off the scoreboard until junior Nicole Reiser connected on a pass from senior Jess Tintera with 84:03 on the clock. Waynesburg sealed the victory in the closing seconds as Martorella netted her first career goal with 11 seconds left in the game.

Amy Mills registered five saves on eight attempts in the final 45 minutes of the game.
Waynesburg continues its three-game home stand on Tuesday, Sept. 18 when it faces La Roche for a 4 p.m. match.
