Yellow Jackets fall to Pitt-Greensburg, 3-1

Heaston sets season high with 26 digs

GREENSBURG, Pa. (Sept. 19) – After beating Pitt-Greensburg earlier this season, the Yellow Jackets suffered a 3-1 loss (26-30, 30-17, 30-28, 30-17) in a rematch against the Bobcats on Wednesday evening at Chambers Hall.

Waynesburg (4-9) was paced offensively by junior Amanda Jo Morgan, who reached double-figure kills for the fifth-straight match with 10. Sophomore outside hitter Jenna Heaston led the defense with a season-high 26 digs, while freshman libero Rachell Storm added 19 digs. Junior setter Amanda Staudt registered her fourth assist/dig double-double of the season with 16 assists and 13 digs.

Pitt-Greensburg (3-9) was led by 16 kills from Breanne Bell, who registered her 1,000 career kill in the match.

The Yellow Jackets return to conference play on Saturday, Sept. 22, with a tri-match in Latrobe, Pa. Waynesburg is set to open the day with a 1 p.m. match against Westminster before facing host Saint Vincent at 3 p.m.
