LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's cross country team finished in third place in its second-straight meet of the season, placing third at the Saint Vincent College Invitational on Saturday morning.
Senior
Michelle Propst Cross was the top runner for the Yellow Jackets, placing 10th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 46 seconds. Fellow senior
Katie Weko crossed the line at 20:59 to finish 15th overall.
Sophomore
Janet Carson finished third for Waynesburg and 23rd overall in 21:20, followed closely by senior
Haley Hinds, who finished right behind Carson with a time of 21:24. Junior
Megan Grover rounded out the top-five Yellow Jacket runners with a time of 21:36.
Franciscan won the invitational title with 29 points, followed by Seton Hill (75) and the Yellow Jackets (89). The host Bearcats finished fourth overall with 95 points, while Clarion (111) rounded out the top-five finishers. Freshman Anna Cote of Seton Hill won the individual title with a time of 19:37.
Waynesburg enjoys a bye weekend before competing on Saturday, Oct. 6, in the Bobcat Invitational, which is hosted by at Pitt-Greensburg.
