LATROBE, Pa. (Sept. 7) – Despite trailing just 2-1 after doubles play, the Yellow Jackets dropped a 7-2 decision on Friday against Saint Vincent.

Waynesburg's sophomore doubles team of Allie Horochak and Jess Mally scored 8-6 victory at the No. 2 position over the Bearcats' duo of sophomore Allison Botti and senior Ashley Nord.

Saint Vincent controlled the match in singles action, winning five of the matches. Junior Evelyn Fabian recorded the Yellow Jackets lone victory in singles action, defeating sophomore Brittany Vignero in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, at the No. 6 slot. Freshman Blakeley Mall forced a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles after winning the second set, 6-2, before losing to Botti.

Waynesburg continues its weekend road trip tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 8, with a match against Goucher College in Towson, Md.
