TOWSON, Md. (Sept. 8) – Yellow Jacket sophomore Carrie Daubert posted a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles on Saturday, as the Waynesburg University women's tennis team suffered an 8-1 loss to Goucher College.

The Gophers swept all three doubles matches before taking five of six singles matches. Daubert defeated Tanya Cooley in two sets, 6-3, 6-3, to register her first singles victory as a Yellow Jacket.

Junior Laura Garcia challenged Goucher's Carly Heinz at No. 1 singles before falling in two sets. Garcia dropped a first-set tiebreaker before falling in the second set, 6-2.

Waynesburg returns home on Tuesday, Sept. 11, against Chatham University. First serve is set for 4 p.m.
