PITTSBURGH (Jan. 16) – In dual match against Division I-member Duquesne University, the Waynesburg University wrestling team suffered a 46-3 loss to the Dukes at the A.J. Palumbo Center Wednesday night.
The Dukes captured five of their nine victories via forfeit with the Yellow Jackets forcing four matches to be finalized by decisions.
Freshman
Josh Boyle earned a 2-1 victory at 133-pounds over fellow freshman Kevin Chapman for the lone Waynesburg victory of the night.
At 165-pounds, junior
Jake Benczo suffered a narrow 4-1 loss via decision to senior Cody Midlam. In the heavyweight match, Duquesne senior Joe D'Orsie earned a slim 5-3 victory over senior
LR Neubauer.
The Yellow Jackets returns to action on Tuesday, Jan. 22, as they travel to face conference-powerhouse Thiel College for a dual match at 7 p.m.
