GREENVILLE, Pa. (Jan. 22) – The Yellow Jackets suffered a tough 54-6 loss in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) dual action against conference-powerhouse Thiel College Tuesday evening at the Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.
Waynesburg drops to 0-11 this season in dual competition with a 0-2 mark in league play. Meanwhile, Thiel moves to 7-3 overall and 2-0 in conference action. The Yellow Jackets forfeited seven of the 10 scheduled matches with the other three bouts all decided via pinfall.
Senior
LR Neubauer continued his career year Tuesday night when he extended his team-leading win total to 11, equaling his career total prior to this season. The Maryland native claimed a pinfall in the heavyweight match over Tomcat senior A.J. Park at the 2:10 mark.
In other action against Thiel, freshman
Josh Boyle suffered a loss by fall to sophomore Andrew Fisher at 133-pounds in 2:27. At 157-pounds, fellow freshman
Kevin Walsh was pinned by freshman Alex Brown at the 1:40 mark.
The Yellow Jackets are idle from competition for next week in preparation for the 22nd-annual John Summa Invitational hosted by Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, on Saturday, Feb. 2. The invitational figures to be attended by approximately eight schools, including conference members Thiel and Washington & Jefferson.
