NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Jan. 9) – The Waynesburg University women's basketball team remained winless in conference play following a 59-35 loss to Westminster College Wednesday night.
The Yellow Jackets fall to 0-4 in league play and 1-11 overall this year after winning their season opener on Nov. 16. Despite being without the conference's leading scorer, the Titans managed to improve to 2-2 in conference action and 9-3 overall.

The Titans jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the first nine minutes of the game before

Elisha Jones scored on a lay-up with just 2:53 left before halftime. Westminster took a 25-8 lead into the half after shooting 45.5 percent from the floor in the first 20 minutes of the game.
In the second half, the Titans expanded their lead to as many as 31 points, 41-10, with 12:08 left in the game before the Yellow Jackets eventually trimmed the deficit to 21 points, 50-29, with 3:26 following a three-pointer from Wonsettler.
For the game, Westminster made 52.2 percent (24-of-46) of its shots compared to Waynesburg shooting a season-worst 23.9 percent (11-of-46) from the floor. The Titans held a slim 31-26 advantage in the rebounding category with senior guard

The Titans featured three starters in double-figure scoring, led by 14 points from senior forward Terese Marszalek.
Waynesburg returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 12, when it hosts Geneva College for a 5:30 p.m. contest at Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
