Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 14) – After getting the night off to a bit of a slow start, the Waynesburg University women's volleyball bounced back and gave visiting Westminster a match on Tuesday night, before ultimately dropping a 3-1 decision.

The Yellow Jackets dropped the first two sets by the final scores of 25-17 and 25-15, but responded by winning set number three 25-23. Unfortunately, Waynesburg couldn't take the match to a fifth set as the Titans clinched the win with a 25-23 victory in set four.

Though they came in a losing effort, several Yellow Jackets had solid nights on the court at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. The senior trio of Laurie Lindner, Amanda Jo Morgan and Amanda Staudt recorded 14, 13 and nine kills, respectively to pace the offense.

Lindner recorded a double-double on the night by adding 21 digs to her impressive kill totals. Three other Jackets put up at least 12 digs on the night. Sophomore Rachell Storm led the way with 37 digs, sophomore Julie Incerpi added 17 and Staudt chipped in 12.

Like Lindner, Staudt also had a double-double on the night as the setter rolled up an impressive 40 assists.

The loss dropped Waynesburg to 4-6 in conference play and 8-14 overall, while Westminster, which won its 19th PAC match in a row, improved to 16-7 overall and 9-0 in the conference.

The Jackets return to action on Thursday, Oct. 16, when they travel north on I-79 to take on Washington and Jefferson for a 7 p.m. PAC showdown.
