ALTOONA, Pa. (Oct. 16) – The Waynesburg women's tennis team battled hard Thursday afternoon at Penn State Altoona against the Lions in a non-conference showdown.

However, a pair of tough losses in doubles competition ultimately cost the Yellow Jackets in a 6-3 loss to Penn State Altoona. The defeat dropped Waynesburg to 3-9 overall.

Junior Allie Horochak picked up a win at number two singles and freshman Jessica Kody was also victorious in singles play at number four.

The Jackets also picked up a win at third doubles thanks to the freshman duo of Chelsea McAndrews and Kelsey Diesel

The match was ultimately decided at first and second doubles where Altoona was able to earn a pair of victories by tie-breaker.

Waynesburg returns to action this Saturday when they host Saint Vincent for an 11 a.m. match.
