The Waynesburg volleyball team, showed above during a previous match, had reason to celebrate after beating Thiel Tuesday night to advance to the semifinal round of the PAC Tournament.

GREENVILLE, Pa. (Nov. 4) – The Waynesburg University volleyball team simultaneously got a measure of revenge and advanced in the 2008 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Tournament on Tuesday night when they hit the road and took a first-round match from Thiel.
The Yellow Jackets won the first two sets of the night by the finals of 25-13 and 25-22, before the number four Tomcats got back in the match with a 25-18 win. However, the visiting Jackets, who are the fifth seed in this year's tournament, polished their opponents off with a 25-20 win in set four.
Senior outside hitter Laurie Lindner led Waynesburg with 20 kills on the night. Senior setter Amanda Staudt paced the Jackets with 46 assists. On the defensive side, sophomore Rachell Storm rolled up 23 digs in the victory.
Lindner added 12 digs to her match's work, giving the veteran standout her 17th double-double of the season.Senior middle hitter Amanda Jo Morgan nearly had a double-double of her own with 10 kills and an impressive nine blocks, including seven solo stuffs.
As previously mentioned, Waynesburg's win was sweet revenge as they dropped a pair of regular-season matches to the Tomcats. It was also the team's first postseason victory since 2005.
With the win, Waynesburg advances to the semifinal round of the tourney, where they will face top-seeded Westminster on Friday, Nov. 7, at the Titans' home gym, Buzz Ridl Gymnasium.
