However, Geneva regained momentum by scoring eight-straight points, 25-16, with only 1:50 left before the break.

The Golden Tornadoes scored the first two baskets of the second half to take a 35-19 lead before the Yellow Jackets slowly worked the lead down to seven points, 37-30, with 11:18 left on a jumper by Michaelene Jones. Geneva again mounted a lengthy rally to reclaim a sizeable lead, scoring 11 unanswered points to take a 48-30 lead.

Senior forward Allyson Clark recorded a double-double for the Golden Tornadoes with 16 points and 12 rebounds (five offensive). Freshmen guards Rachel Berry and Megan Hartwig each finished with 13 points, while junior forward Michawn Rich added seven points, five assists and three steals.
