GREENSBURG, Pa. (Feb. 19) – The Waynesburg University men's tennis team swept doubles play and collected three singles victories on its way to a 6-3 victory over Saint Vincent College Tuesday afternoon at the Greensburg Racquet Club.
The Yellow Jackets and Bearcats both feature 1-1 records following the provisional conference match. Waynesburg snapped a two-match losing streak to Saint Vincent with the victory, but has won three of the last five meetings.
Junior
Kevin Houseknecht and sophomore
Jeff Canning earned an 8-4 victory at No.1 doubles over sophomore John Allen and junior Zachary Parkhill. Freshmen

Steve Bold picked up an 8-3 win over senior Stefan Genzor and junior Steve Filipiak at the second position, while junior
Drew Slater and sophomore
Adam Woodruff completed the doubles sweep with an 8-6 victory at No. 3 doubles over juniors Troy Smith and Zachary Orthen.
In singles play, Houseknecht defeated Allen at first singles in straight sets, winning 6-2, 6-5. Khoury earned his second victory of the afternoon when he defeated Smith at the third position, 7-6, 6-4. Bold also posted a multi-win match, earning a 6-4, 6-0 win over Filipiak at No. 5 singles.
The Yellow Jackets return to action Saturday, Feb. 23, when they compete in the two-day West Virginia Wesleyan Invitational in Morgantown, W.Va.
