WAYNESBURG (March 29) – In its first action of the spring season, the Waynesburg University men's golf team shot a 341 and finished in fifth place at its home event on the Greene County Country Club.
Washington & Jefferson College earned tournament champion honors with a round of 318, edging provisional conference-member Saint Vincent College by two strokes. The Presidents were led by medalist junior Marc Fillari with a round of four-over par 76 (37-39). Thomas More College finished third with a score 331, while the Yellow Jackets and Westminster College each carded a round of 341. Due to tie-breaking rules, the Titans finished fourth since their fifth-place golfer shot a lower score than the Yellow Jackets' fifth-place golfer.

Tommy Rohanna (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central) led Waynesburg with an eight-over par 80 (40-40) to finish in a tie for sixth place. Senior
Ryan Heilman (Elizabeth, Pa./Elizabeth-Forward) shot a 12-over 84 (42-42) for a tie for 16th place. Fellow senior
Ryan Reilly (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) carded a 13-over 85 (41-44) to finish in 18th place.
Junior
Sean Call (Mt. Pleasant, Ohio/Buckeye Local) rounded out the Yellow Jacket scorers with a round of 20-over 92 (45-47). Senior
Tim Drakeley (Washington, Pa./Trinity) made his collegiate debut on the links at the event, finishing fifth for Waynesburg with a score of 104 (47-57).
The Yellow Jackets returns to action on Monday, March 31, at the Westminster Invitational.
