BETHANY, W.Va. (April 12) – The Yellow Jackets dropped both games of their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) doubleheader with Bethany College on Saturday afternoon, falling 5-3 in the first game and losing 8-5 in the nightcap.

In game one, Bison hurler Heather Immesberger (9-4) earned the complete-game victory after yielding three runs (two earned) on six hits with seven strikeouts. Waynesburg starter Autumn Minor (Waynesburg, Pa./Waynesburg Central) (6-5) was saddled with the loss after allowing five runs (three earned) on 11 hits with four strikeouts.

Minor gave the Yellow Jackets (9-13, 3-3 PAC) a 1-0 lead in the top of the second with her second homer of the season. The Bison evened the contest with a run in the third before taking a 2-1 lead in the fourth. After a RBI single by junior shortstop Haley Kramer (Ellwood City, Pa./Laurel) in the fifth tied the game, Bethany (11-13, 5-1 PAC) responded with one run in the bottom of the inning before adding two insurance runs in the sixth.

Kramer and Minor combined to collect four of the Yellow Jackets' six hits in Game 1, as each player posted a multi-hit game.

The nightcap featured a high-scoring first inning with each teams scoring three runs. Waynesburg opened the bottom half of the inning with back-to-back walks before freshman pitcher Amanda Baughman (Washington, Pa./Washington) capitalized with a RBI single. Minor, who was serving as the designated hitter in Game 2, followed with a two-run double to tie the score at 3-3.

The Bison broke the tie in the fourth with a run before adding another run in the sixth. The Yellow Jackets trimmed the lead to 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth before Bethany plated three runs in the seventh. Waynesburg cut the deficit in the bottom of the inning when Baughman drove in junior catcher Kristyn Klueg (East Northport, N.Y./John H. Glenn), who started the frame with a triple.

Baughman (2-5) suffered the loss for the Yellow Jackets in her fourth complete game of the season, allowing eight runs on 10 hits with six strikeouts. Immesberger earned her second win of the day in Game two, throwing 5.0 innings of relief, allowing two runs on five hits, while striking out four.

Baughman and Minor each went 2-for-4 with two RBI in the nightcap.

Waynesburg returns to action on Tuesday, April 15, when it hosts Chatham University for a 3 p.m. conference doubleheader.
