MARIETTA, Ohio (April 15) – The Yellow Jackets rallied to win four singles matches to claim a 5-4 victory Tuesday afternoon against Marietta College in a non-conference match.
The win marks the fifth-straight for Waynesburg University, who moves to 7-4 on the season. It also extends the Yellow Jackets' win streak to five matches, their longest since the 2005 season.

Kevin Houseknecht (Picture Rocks, Pa./Hughesville) and sophomore
Jeff Canning (Cambridge, Ohio/Cambridge) earned the lone Waynesburg victory in doubles play by defeating Bruce Kitchens and Mark Briggs by a 9-7 count at first doubles.
Houseknecht also defeated Kitchens in singles action, claiming a 6-1, 6-0 victory at first singles. Canning followed with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Ryan Callihan at the second slot. Freshman
Emile Khoury (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) posted a 6-3, 6-1 victory at third singles over Briggs. Senior
Eric Schons (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) added a decisive 6-0, 6-2 win against Clint Perkins at the No. 5 position.
The Yellow Jackets nearly swept singles play against the Pioneers (1-9), as freshman
Steve Bold (Aurora, Ohio/Aurora) and sophomore
Adam Woodruff (Hemlock, N.Y./Livonia) lost their matches by third-set super tiebreakers at the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.
Waynesburg resumes play on Friday, April 18, when it travels to face Grove City College for a 2 p.m. conference match.
