CANONSBURG, Pa. (April 7) – The Waynesburg University women's golf team opened its spring season on Monday with a fifth-place finish at the par 72 Southpointe Invitational hosted by Washington & Jefferson College.
The Yellow Jackets finished the event with a score of 617. The host Presidents captured the team title with a round of 475, anchored by a 13-over 85 by sophomore medalist Leslie Walker.
Sophomore
Maddie Oltman (Ashville, Ohio/Teays Valley) carded a team-best round of 135 (62-73) for Waynesburg to tie for 17th place overall. Senior
Tara Marcischak (Chardon, Ohio/Chardon) was next in the clubhouse with a score of 143 (70-73).
Junior
Jamie Imhoff (Carmichaels, Pa./Carmichaels) and sophomore
Erica Albitz (Saltsburg, Pa./Saltsburg) rounded out the Yellow Jacket golfers.
Waynesburg returns to action on Monday, April 14, at the Westminster Invitational, played at the New Castle Country Club. Tee times are set for 11 a.m.
