GREENSBURG
, Pa.
(Sept. 13) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team extended its current winning streak to three games after they held on to defeat Pitt-Greensburg by the final of 2-1 on Saturday night.

With the victory, the Yellow Jackets women improved to 4-1 on the season.

After a scoreless first period, Waynesburg's Courtney Ebersole scored the third goal of her freshman campaign at 54:35 into the contest to give the Jackets a 1-0 lead. Amy Macurdy assisted on the score.

Less than fifteen minutes later, Waynesburg made it 2-0 on a goal by another freshman, Melody Cox. Cox's second of the year was set up by sophomore Danielle Danhires, who got the assist.

Pitt-Greensburg made a game of it again at 88:19 into the contest as Caitlin Dawson managed to get one past Waynesburg goalie Jame Williamson with just 1:41 left in the game.

However, Waynesburg was able to shut the comeback attempt down as the clock expired.

Paige Yeich got the start in goal for Waynesburg and picked up the victory after playing all 45 minutes of the first period. The senior made two saves.

The Yellow Jackets hope that they can continue their winning ways on Tuesday, Sept. 16, when they host Muskingum for a 6 p.m. contest.
