PITTSBURGH
, Pa.
(Sept. 20) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team stretched their unbeaten streak to five games as they picked up a 3-1 victory over La Roche College on Saturday.

Waynesburg (5-1-1) got the scoring going with 23:47 left in the first period as freshman Courtney Ebersole tallied her team-best fourth goal of the season. The score was unassisted.

Already up 1-0, Waynesburg stretched their lead to 2-0 when sophomore Danielle Danhires picked up her second of the season with 27:49 left in the second period.

After La Roche's Michelle Steele buried a shot behind Waynesburg freshman goalkeeper Katrina Kelly to trim the lead to 2-1, the Yellow Jackets put the game away with just over three minutes left.

Yet another Waynesburg freshman, Sarah Burrie notched the point, her first of the year, with Ebersole assisting on the goal. Ebersole currently leads the team with 13 points.

In goal, senior Paige Yeich got the start and made four saves over the first 45 minutes of the contest. Kelly put in 45 minutes of work in the second period to get the win, despite allowing the only goal of the game for La Roche.

The Yellow Jackets return to action on Wednesday, Sept. 24, when they travel to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
