NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Sept. 24) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 match to the Westminster Titans on Wednesday night.
Westminster took the match by the set scores of 25-19, 25-15, 25-16 in front of their home crowd.
Though it came in a losing effort, Waynesburg senior outside hitter Laurie Lindner put together another double-digit night in the kills category with 11. She also added eight digs.
Speaking of digs, sophomore libero Rachell Storm paced the team in that category with 14. Senior setter Amanda Staudt chipped in 10 digs on the night. Staudt also led the team with a match-high 19 assists.
The loss dropped Waynesburg to 5-9 overall and 1-3 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play. The Titans, meanwhile, improved to 3-0 in PAC play and 10-6 overall as they defend their conference crown from 2007.
The Yellow Jackets return home for their next match, another PAC clash, against Thomas More on Friday, Sept. 26.
