Women's soccer squares off with Geneva

Yellow Jackets drop road contest to Golden Tornadoes

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. (Oct. 28) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 contest at Geneva on Wednesday evening.

 

The loss dropped the Yellow Jackets to 6-11 on the season, while the Golden Tornadoes improved to 8-8 overall.

 

The eventual game-winning goal came from Melissa Byrdy eight minutes into the contest. Geneva sealed the victory with second-half insurance tallies from Maura Allen and Elise Mann.

 

Sophomore keeper Jaime Williamson got the start in net for Waynesburg and stopped 13 shots on goal.

 

Waynesburg concludes the 2009 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 31, when they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. to face Thomas More.
