WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 3) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 home shutout at the hands of visiting Westminster on Saturday.
The Yellow Jackets' best chances for victory came at third doubles and sixth singles. The senior duo of Allie Horochak and Jess Mally took the Titans' Lauren Latinovich and Jane Larson to the limit, but dropped an 8-6 match.
Sophomore Kelsey Diesel picked up a victory in the first set of her match with Jane Larson, but couldn't seal the deal as she fell by the final of 6-4, 4-6, 1-6.
The loss drops Waynesburg to 3-4 overall and 3-2 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) play, while Westminster continues an undefeated 9-0 season (3-0 in PAC play). The Jackets are expected back in action on Tuesday, Oct. 6, when they host Bethany in a 3 p.m. non-conference match.
