Volleyball team performs well at Westminster

Jackets battle, ultimately fall to Titans

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Waynesburg women's volleyball team battled hard, but couldn't pull the upset at Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) powerhouse Westminster.

 

After the two teams split the first two sets of the match, Westminster took the final two and downed the visiting Yellow Jackets 3-1. The Titans won the match by the set scores of 25-18, 23-25, 25-8, 25-23.

 

The Jackets were led by junior libero #Rachell Storm#, who piled up a team-best 36 digs. Sophomore Jordan Barton chipped in 17 digs and just missed out on a double-double with eight kills. Freshman Presley Cupp added 15 didgs.

 

Freshman Carly Smithyman had a very productive night by racking up a Jacket-best 25 assists.

 

Waynesburg is back on the court at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse on Thursday, Oct. 8, when they host Thomas More in a PAC match.
