Jackets suffer home sweep at the hands of the Titans

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 16) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team suffered a three-set sweep at the hands of the two-time defending Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) champions from Westminster on Wednesday night.

 

The Titans took the contest by the set scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-14. The loss drops the Yellow Jackets to 3-6 overall on the year, and 1-2 in PAC play. The Titans improved to 2-7 on the year and are 1-0 in conference action.

 

Offensively, the Jackets were led by sophomore Jordan Barton, who totaled eight kills in 19 attempts. Freshman Madison Sano racked up a team-best nine assists. Junior Rachell Storm racked up a team-best 13 digs, while Barton just missed a double-double after piling up 12 digs.

 

Freshman Shannon Langworthy was strong at the net with five total blocks, including four assisted blocks. Sophomore Jenna Stoltzfus added two solo blocks and assisted on two more.

 

Waynesburg returns to the court on Wednesday, Sept. 23, when they host Washington & Jefferson in a PAC showdown.
