LATROBE, Pa. – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team put forth a fine effort against Houghton (N.Y.), an NAIA team, but fell in three sets at the Saint Vincent Bearcat Challenge on Saturday.
The Highlanders took the match by the set scores of 25-21, 25-9, 25-20. The loss dropped Waynesburg to 1-3 on the season and 1-2 at the Bearcat Challenge.
Sophomore Jordan Barton once again led the Waynesburg attack as she rolled up a team-high 10 kills. Freshman Shannon Langworthy tacked on five successful attacks.
Speaking of freshman, first-year setter Madison Sano piled up a Waynesburg-high 22 assists, while junior libero Rachell Storm rolled up 22 digs.
The Jackets are back in action this afternoon, when they face Carlow in a 2 p.m. match.
