Women's soccer loses heart breaker at Saint Vincent

Yellow Jackets give up goal with just seconds remaining against Bearcats

Box Score

LATROBE, Pa. (Oct. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team out-shot Saint Vincent 28-10 during their Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup on Tuesday.

Unfortunately, the Yellow Jackets couldn't push one of those shots past Saint Vincent keeper Kirstie Mills. The Bearcats, on the other hand, finally broke up a 0-0 tie with less than one minute remaining in the game to pull out a 1-0 victory. With the loss, the Yellow Jackets dropped to 6-6-2 overall and 0-4 in PAC play. The Bearcats are now 4-6-3 on the year, but 3-1 in conference action.

Waynesburg junior keeper Katrina Kelly made three stops over 90 minutes of work. Freshman Susie Godwin and senior Danielle Danhires each took a team-high six shots on the afternoon. Mills withstood a barrage from the Jackets and made 13 saves on the game.

Waynesburg is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Chatham to face the Cougars in a PAC showdown. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
