WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 13) – A pair of wins from junior Jessica Kody weren't enough to elevate the Waynesburg University women's tennis team to a win over Penn State Altoona on Wednesday.
Kody first teamed up with fellow junior Jenny McAndrews to earn an 8-4 win at second doubles. She added a straight-set (6-3, 6-1) triumph over Altoona's Katelyn Piper at third singles.
Freshman Logan McDonald won a marathon match over Aeriale Spotts at fifth singles to give Waynesburg its final point in the 6-3 loss. McDonald took the match by the scores of 6-3, 6-7 (7-5), 1 (10-8).
The Jackets return to action on Friday, when they host Fairmont State.
