Women's volleyball drops home match to W&J

Yellow Jackets fall 3-1 to Presidents

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 6) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team dropped a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) matchup to visiting Washington and Jefferson 3-1 on Wednesday night.

The Yellow Jackets (7-12, 1-6) battled back and forth with the Presidents (6-7, 4-5) through the first two sets, falling 25-23 in the first set before picking up a second set win 25-22. Errors proved to be the difference for the Yellow Jackets in the final two sets, as they dropped both of them by scores of 25-10 and 25-20.
 

Junior outside hitter Jordan Barton recorded her fourth double-double of the season by picking up 14 kills and 19 digs. Freshman Katelyn Blaich and sophomore Presley Cupp struck three service aces each. Freshman setter Natalie Ranallo paced the team in assists with a team-high 18.

The Yellow Jackets travel to Latrobe, Pa. this weekend for a PAC triangular match with the Saint Vincent Bearcats and the Thiel Tomcats.
