Women's tennis downs Bethany

Yellow Jackets get back on winning track with 8-1 victory

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 7) – The Waynesburg University women's tennis team snapped a five-match losing streak with an 8-1 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Bethany on Thursday.

 

Five of the six Yellow Jackets that competed on Thursday went 2-0 on the day. Freshman Markie Gustafson led the way with a 6-3, 6-2 win at second singles. She also teamed up with sophomore Rebeka Reyes for a 8-3 win at number-one doubles.

 

Other Jackets to go 2-0 on the day included juniors Jessica Kody, Kelsey Diesel and Jenny McAndrews. Freshman Logan McDonald also picked up a pair of victories on the afternoon.

 

Waynesburg (4-8, 3-4) will look to keep their winning ways going tomorrow when they travel to Greenville to face Thiel.
