Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 14) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team rolled to its fourth-straight win by shutting out Pitt-Greensburg 4-0 at John F. Wiley Stadium on Tuesday.

The Yellow Jackets (4-2-1) are in the middle of their longest winning streak since 2007, when they won four in a row. Junior forward Courtney Ebersole scored her team-leading fifth goal of the season 12:09 into the contest to put her team up 1-0. Freshman Victoria Shepherd made it 2-0 with just over nine minutes remaining in the first half after heading in a well-placed corner kick from senior Sarah Spicuzza.

The score remained 2-0 until the 63rd minute of play when senior Amy Macurdy took a touch pass from freshman Taylor Augustine and buried the team's third goal. Waynesburg put the icing on the cake with a score from senior Brittany Spitznogle to make it 4-0.

It was an easy night for junior keeper Katrina Kelly, who made two saves to pick up the shutout. The Jackets out-shot the Bobcats (2-4) by a 30-4 margin.

The Waynesburg women kickers return to action on Thursday, Sept. 16, when they travel to Penn State-Altoona.
