Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 22) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball dropped a 3-1 match to visiting Bethany Wednesday night at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

The Yellow Jackets (4-7, 0-3) started out shakily in the first set, falling 25-14. The remaining sets proved to be a different story as the Jackets fought hard against a talented Bison (11-1, 3-1) team, closing the gap in set two with a 25-18 loss.

Waynesburg continued to battle in the third set and pulled out a 27-25 victory. However their rally fell just short as they fell 25-23 in the final set.

Junior outside hitter Jordan Barton put down a team-high 11 kills on the evening, while also putting up 10 digs to complete her second double-double on the season. The setter combination of sophomore Carly Smithyman and freshman Natalie Ranallo recorded a combined 31 assists between them

Up next for the Yellow Jackets is a non-conference match with Mount Aloysius tomorrow evening at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
