Women's volleyball sweeps Mt. Aloysius

Yellow Jackets get back on the winning track with 3-0 win over Mounties

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 23) - The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team overpowered Mount Aloysius College in straight sets, winning 3-0 on Thursday night.

 

The Yellow Jackets (5-7) downed the Mounties by the set scores of 25-23, 25-19 and 25-19. The Jackets never trailed after the first set, and all five of the Jackets victories have now been by 3-0 scores.

 

Junior outside hitter Jordan Barton led the way with a team-high ten kills, while freshman setter Natalie Ranallo led the Jackets with 19 assists. The Jackets defense was led by freshman outside hitter Katelyn Blaich, who posted a team-high nine digs, and sophomore middle hitter Shannon Langworthy added two assisted blocks.

 

The Yellow Jackets will try to continue their winning ways when they head to New Wilmington, Pa on Saturday, Sept. 25, for a tri-match with PAC foes Westminster and Chatham.
