Women's tennis fall in home match to unbeaten Westminster

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Sept. 25) – The Waynesburg women's tennis team dropped a 9-0 match to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Westminster on Saturday morning.

 

Though the final score may not reflect it, the Yellow Jackets (3-5, 2-2) were pretty competitive in several matches on the day. Junior Jenny McAndrews took the Titans' Rachel Jack to three sets before falling 5-7, 6-1, 6-4. Juniors Jessica Kody and Kelsey Diesel both came close to taking a set in each of their respective matches. Kody fell 7-6 (3), 6-1 to Becky Tobias at third singles, while Diesel dropped a 7-5, 6-1 contest at fourth singles.

 

Westminster (7-0, 3-0) stayed undefeated on the season with win.

 

The Jackets will try to get back on the winning track on Sept. 29, when they travel to Chatham to face the Cougars in a PAC showdown.
