Women's volleyball can't take down Carlow

Yellow Jackets lose 3-1 road match to Celtics

PITTSBURGH, Pa. (Sept. 30) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match at NAIA opponent Carlow University on Thursday.

 

The Celtics (10-8) took the match by the set scores of 25-22, 22-25, 25-16, 25-21.With the loss, the Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-9 on the season. Junior outside hitter Jordan Barton led the offense with a team-high 12 kills. She added 11 digs for her third double-double of the season. Speaking of digs, sophomore Presley Cupp piled up 14 to pace the visiting team. Sophomore Carly Smithyman recorded a team-high 21 assists.


The Jackets look to get back on the winning track on Saturday, when they host Geneva and Thomas More. The tri-match is scheduled to get underway at 11 a.m.
