Jacket men drop home PAC contest to Bethany

Bison drop Waynesburg 73-52

Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Jan. 26) – The Waynesburg University men's basketball team fell to the Bethany Bison for the second time year on Wednesday by the score of 73-52.

The Jackets (5-13, 2-6) grabbed the lead at the eight-minute mark of the first half after a Lou Galante three-pointer made it 16-14. Bethany (13-5, 7-2) took control from that point, as it would also mark the last time the Jackets led. The Jackets shot a season-low three free throws, marking the second consecutive game in which they failed to reach double digits in free throw attempts.

Galante was the lone Jackets scorer in double-digits with 10 points and six rebounds. Junior forward Jeff Young finished the contest with eight points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Jackets will look to halt their six-game losing streak on Saturday when they play host to Grove City College at 3:30 p.m. at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.

Note: Sophomore guard Reece Mabery broke the Bethany College record for steals in a game with 12.
