Women's volleyball hosts Dig Pink match

Yellow Jackets raise money for breast cancer research and prevention against Saint Vincent

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 11) – The Waynesburg University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 home match to Saint Vincent on Tuesday night at the Rudy Marisa Fieldhouse.
 
The Yellow Jackets (8-11, 2-9) put up a terrific fight against the Bearcats (17-5, 7-3), but fell by the set scores of 25-22, 25-11, 32-30. Senior middle hitter Lauren Wagner led the Waynesbur gattack with a team-high 15 kills and completed her seventh double-double of the season with 15 digs. Speaking of double-double efforts, sophomore Natalie Ranallo  also notched her seventh such effort of the year with a team-high 29 assists and 17 digs.

Sophomore middle hitter Mabel Culp racked up 11 kills on the evening, while junior Presley Cupp led Waynesburg defensively with 21 digs.

The match was also played as part of the Dig Pink program, which raises money for breast cancer research and prevention.
 
Full statistics from the contest will be released soon. Waynesburg returns to action on Thursday, Oct. 13, when the Yellow Jackets travel to Bethany to face the PAC-leading Bison. Start time for the match is scheduled for 7 p.m.
