Women's soccer shuts out Saint Vincent

Bombalski scores game-deciding goal in 1-0 victory

Box Score

WAYNESBURG, Pa. (Oct. 12) – The Waynesburg University women's soccer team gutted out a 1-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over Saint Vincent on Wednesday night at John F. Wiley Stadium.

The Yellow Jackets (12-2, 3-1) tallied the game's only goal during the 57th minute of play when freshman Taylor Bombalski took a feed from sophomore Susie Godwin to beat Saint Vincent's (5-7-1, 1-3) keeper. That score, combined with five saves from senior goalkeeper Katrina Kelly, propelled the Jackets to the win. For Kelly, it was her seventh shutout of the season.

Waynesburg out-shot Saint Vincent by a 13-to-nine advantage. The Yellow Jackets are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 15, when they host PAC rival Westminster at 5 p.m. The contest will serve as the team's annual Kick Pancreatic Cancer game, which raises money for research and prevention of the disease.
